When a Debtor cannot or will not pay, you're stuck with inflation eat away at the value of the debt, or worse letting the Statute of Limitations bar collection. An interest bearing judgment [10% per annum] is a better alternative, if you have to wait. The judgment helps tie up the Debtor's credit, thus providing a further incentive to pay the debt. Furthermore, there's nothing like using the Police Power of the State to compel prompt payment.
